A while maybe, but I always live rent-free in people's minds, yours included.
[ Thancred can imagine a wink there. ]
Nah, mate, I was literally paid to be observant, I know the type.
I'm trying to get maps of all the factions in case of potential escape routes. Two versions of the maps. One official, one unofficial. I'm asking official sorts for the first, and sneaky people for the latter.
[ It's quite the assumption to make, but Thancred is quickly distracted by the true purpose of Jesper's message. Maps, escape routes. It's not a bad idea, but where is this all coming from? ]
I'll have to work on being less obvious, all the same. But when you say escape routes, I assume you mean in the event that someone has to flee from one faction to another?
Yeah, probably, Thorne to Free Cities will be hard due to the crater being right there, so Solvunn's the better direction for you lot, but not only thinking in terms of entire factions. Getting out of a city to another one. To the wilderness, the mountains, toward other factions. I think it's important everyone has an escape planned if things get rougher for us. 2/3 factions have experimented on the Summoned trying to steal our connection, that we know of. People've started to turn on us with all the insanity going on. Just thinking ahead, to be safe.
I've already mapped on foot most of the Free Cities, and I'm getting the official ones. I'm used to having escape routes planned for my gang. We don't have access to portals so we have to be ready on foot.
I agree that we need to prepare for any worst case scenarios that might come up. I do know that Nott has harbored people in the past, and Lyle Vela has even offered that to us in past conversations I've had with him. How well Nott would be able to protect a fugitive Summoned from the Castle, I cannot say, but it's an option. Or at least a waypoint on the way to Solvunn, perhaps.
I have traveled through a good deal of Thorne, and have visited all of its cities multiple times. I'll start to draft out what I can for you.
Yeah if you think they'd let you lot move through them, secure a path, they wouldn't have to house you. It'd probably have to be quick, they'd have people ready on the borders pretty fast to try and stop you. I want us all to be ready. Of course if all factions aren't safe, that'd be a real minefield, but if it's months or even years from now, maybe the Feywilds would let us run up into them.
Thanks. I just want preparation, you know? It feels so much like a rat trap at this point.
The rifts. And the cult. And the war, paused or not. Sooner or later the people may turn on us. The factions spun a story about how we saved the day from the rifts, but they don't know, for now, that one of us was responsible. In my experience, people start to fear and blame outsiders and the different. I don't think we can count on strangers showing up to give us a magical portal to flee next time.
You have a point, especially given that these creatures came from our worlds. It would be a bit naïve to expect people to use logic in these situations.
Keep in mind that my ability to move around Thorne as a whole is rather limited, but I'll gather what information I can for you.
I think the best bet for us currently is to get to Solvunn, and don't get me wrong, I don't think they're particularly fantastic or anything, it's just that if we can't get the Feywilds or Nocwich willing to host us, it may be the only spot with land we can try to take over. And the people there still currently worship the Summoned. Thorne could get down the southern area, I know the path from Cadens.
I don't know about taking over anything, but my plan was always to escape to Solvunn if it came to that. I have a good friend there, and more than that, while I think I could infiltrate the Free Cities under the nose of the military if needed, it doesn't sound like much fun.
My initial thought is that we'll need to find a way to cross the Hydra Gulf to the Tertiary Settlement, and then go from there.
That's the bottom area, yeah? The water in between Thorne and Solvunn. It's probably too far to swim so you'd need a ship. There are not that many of you, one would be enough. I think the hard part for you lot will be getting there faster than they know you're gone. But that's why we're thinking of escapes now.

This is just an emergency type of plan.

[ Unless you were Himeka, and she's already in Solvunn. ]
I suppose befriending some sailors might be a worthwhile endeavor. I'll have to be especially charming if I want them to lend me a boat.

Surely you have more than enough paramours and don't need to make eyes at a grizzled sort like me.

If you're actually worried, I'm just flirting. I don't push, that's no fun.
