It was my true form. My kind generally speaking require a vessel to interact with the world. However, we are supposed to be able to change vessels. Unfortunately for me, an usurper took my throne and managed to cage me into this vessel.

I don't know where Sidwell or his wife stands, I'm just wary of new factors coming into play, especially while we were "gone" for three weeks.
That must have been quite the usurper. Still, depending on how much weight we want to give to what we've now experienced, there is a way to shed it.
[ Thancred's going to quietly side-eye the whole concept of Lucifer having a throne, as historically those who sit upon them often shouldn't have such power in the first place. ]
I can't help but feel as if he took advantage of our absence to swoop in, self-centered as that assumption might be. There have been some interesting rumors floating about the castle as well, which I've just so happened to overhear while I've been moving back in.
He was a pest who knew how to play the game despite how under-advantaged he was.
[He HATES Crowley. But. Credit where it's due.]
I'm banking on that experience being a learning opportunity. There are things that we can tweak. Adjust. And hope the cards fall back into place, eventually.
[That includes Thorne, but much of Lucifer's problems are his... ugh... interpersonal ones.]
I'm sure much of the time Thorne only sees us as pawns to move across their chessboard, but we are nonetheless a deterrent whether or not we mean to be. Self-centered? Perhaps. But had we been present we would have had eyes somewhere in all of it and now we're caught flatfooted.
But please, rumors? Please, oh please, do tell, Thancred.
[ That sounds like a messy chapter in Lucifer's history, though Thancred suspects that makes up a large chunk of Lucifer's past. What "game" he even refers to is unclear, but Thancred decides it's best not to pry too intently into all of that. ]
I refuse to believe that any of those events will truly come to pass. It feels more as if we were forced to fulfill certain roles. Either way, I'm certain we have some say in our own fates.
[ It's true that while the Summoned make up a small part of Abraxas' population, their influence is nonetheless quite significant in the grand scheme of things. It feels a bit like the wool was pulled over their eyes for that period of time. Perhaps everything would have still unfolded in the same way, but as Lucifer says, at least they would have been witness to it. ]
Perhaps you've heard them as well. Word around the castle is that Sidwell has been making some notable changes, removing people from posts for poor performance or even supposed treason. It sounds to me as if he wants to ensure that it is his own trusted people who are in positions of authority here, and he's removing anyone he perceives as a threat.
Perhaps that's my paranoia speaking, but it is noteworthy.
